Atter Shisha
Atter Shisha is a village and Atter Shisha has a very old history in the Mansehra District, the land of Enormous Peoples A lot of years back when Queen Noor Jahan was departing somewhere her destiny and for while her Mob stopped at one location during her short stay , expensive & beautiful perfume bottle has fell down from her hands & it bits spread on the floor, so since that time the place name exist Atter shisha (Atter means Perfume and Shisha means Glass Bottle). Atter shisha is situated at an altitude of 1,425 m (4765 ft) above sea level and surrounded by refreshing green hills and it is situated on the New Naran Highway (Silk Route) towards China and 12 Km from Mansehra City. Atter shisha is a small neat and clean town, Though the importance of the Atter shisha Town has been diminished a little by the completion of New Naran Highway because, in the past, the only track available to reach Naran Valley, Kashmir and China was through Babusar Pass, which in its turn, could only be approached through Atter shisha Mansehra. Atter shisha is well-cultured area, modern and ancient cultures are combined here. Although the young generation is found of modern culture but religious bonds are very tight and majority of the population like the Islamic traditions and follow the path of Allah. The Hujra meetings under the Atter shisha Welfare Society are also included in the Town customs. The Islamic traditions are outstanding in rural area and have high moral values in the society The total population of Atter shisha town was 131,000 according to the Census of 2007. Hindko is the major language of the Town. 60.45% of the total population speaks Hindko. Other languages spoken in the Town are about Urdu 26.05% , Pushto 8.20% and Punjabi 5.30%. Common dress of the people is Shalwar Qamiz, however Government officials and students uses trousers and coats. Turban, Kraquli, Patti caps are worn by the people. Men often wear Waistcoats and Coats over Shalwar Qamiz. Women’s dresses are also very simple and consist of Shalwar, Qamiz, Dopatta and Chadder. The food of inhabitants of the Town is very simple. Maize, wheat and rice are eaten everywhere. Desi Ghee and Lassi is used eagerly in the rural areas. Large majority of the population 60% depends upon agriculture for their subsistence. However, income from agriculture is too meagre to support the population. As a result, many of them have found work in other parts of the country or left for overseas. Other minor professions to which people have taken to, include those of cobblers, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, weavers, barbers, labourers etc. Attar Shisha is the heaven of Mansehra city gifted by Allah to us. Abdullah M Mushtaq Awan. union council (an administrative subdivision) of Mansehra District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.[1] It is located in Balakot Tehsil and lies between Mansehra, the district capital, and Muzaffarabad (the capital of Azad Kashmir)[2]. It was affected by the 2005 Kashmir earthquake.
